I am delighted that you have found your way to The Reiki School of Energy Healing and I personally welcome you. You are about to embark on an exciting healing journey with Reiki as your guide.
I would like to share with you a bit about my own Reiki journey. I was introduced to Reiki in 1998. This was a year of great transition for me. I was beginning a new career teaching high school English and Drama, ending a longterm relationship, and moving homes. I have since noticed that Reiki most often enters one’s life during, right after, or right before, a time of great transition. It was at this time when I met my first Reiki Master Teacher, Marcy Saddy, in London, Canada. That very year, I studied First and Second Degree Reiki with Marcy, and Reiki changed my life. I began using Reiki every day and I immediately felt deeper levels of calm and a heightened sense of awareness. My palms radiated heat whenever I used Reiki and I felt a new sense of self-empowerment. It was an amazing feeling to have this wise and conscious energy to call on whenever I needed it, and I felt more whole, and more grounded. For the first time in my life, I felt fully at home in my body and on the earth.
Some years later, I continued my Reiki studies with Reiki Master Teacher Carole Wray, also in London, Canada. Carole taught me the beauty of teaching Reiki and inspired me to use my background in education and my love of developing curriculum to create my own unique way of teaching Reiki. I believe that Reiki guides you to your Reiki Teachers in divine timing. For the next 12 years, from the time that Reiki first entered my palms, to the time that I became a Reiki Master Teacher, I became a passionate student of Reiki and committed myself to learning all I could about this powerful energy. I balanced my own chakras daily, taking note of both the subtle and profound effects. I read every book I could find about Reiki. I began to share the gift of Reiki with my family and close friends, and eventually with the community at large. My understanding, appreciation and love of Reiki continued to grow.
By 2011, my Reiki curriculum for the first three degrees of Reiki was fully developed and I began to teach all three levels of Reiki: First Degree Reiki, Second Degree Reiki and The Reiki Master Course to others. With my background in education, I believe that students need time to integrate and process new information, therefore I taught each Reiki course over several classes with a minimum of one week in between classes to leave room for this important integration time.
A few years later, some of my Reiki Students began to ask me if I would teach them to teach Reiki. Every Reiki Teacher Program that I was aware of did not offer the in-depth training that I felt would be helpful when learning to be a teacher of Reiki. The focus in these Reiki Teacher Programs was on receiving the Reiki Teacher attunement. In addition, the average Reiki Teacher Program was a short weekend at most, with no opportunity to observe Reiki classes being taught, no time for practice teaching, and no time to integrate what was being learned. I began to develop a Reiki Master Teacher Program that included standardized curriculum, detailed instruction on how to teach Reiki, opportunities to observe Reiki Teachers teaching Reiki, opportunities to practice teaching Reiki, resources, thorough Reiki manuals, beautiful slideshows, and instruction on the art of teaching. In 2017, my Reiki Master Teacher Program was born, with spiritual assistance from my predecessors: Master Mikao Usui, Master Chujiro Hayashi and Master Hawayo Takata. In 2018, I began to teach Reiki Master Practitioners to teach Reiki using my curriculum, manuals, slideshows, resources, and classroom materials. I continue to do so to this day.
When I moved from London, Ontario to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2014, I broadened my Reiki practice as both a Reiki Master Practitioner and Teacher. In 2017, I relocated my practice to my hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Canada where I co-founded The Healing Loft Inc, a multidisciplinary Holistic Wellness Centre. In 2023, I founded The Reiki School of Energy Healing with the intention of expanding the reach of Reiki to humans around the globe who are guided to learn, practice or teach Reiki. My dream is to share the Reiki curriculum and resources that I have created internationally, to offer thorough training to those who are guided to build their own Reiki Practice as a Reiki Practitioner, as well as to offer thorough training to those who are guided to teach this ancient healing art form.
I believe that a skilled educator is also a lifelong learner. I would therefore also like to mention other disciplines that I have studied throughout the years. First of all, I am a teacher by trade. I studied at Althouse Teacher’s College at Western University, and I have been a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers since 1998. I have also studied Healing Touch, Access Bars®, Applied Physiology: The Complete Agape Quest and the Seven Chi Keys with The Institute of Bioenergetic Arts and Sciences. I studied all of the levels of Therapeutic Touch, three levels of Touch for Health, Axiatonal Alignment, EFFT (Emotion Focused Family Therapy), Shamanic Journeys and Anatomy for Healers®. I am a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and Certified Instructor with the Healing Touch Program®. I teach all of the levels of Ascension Reiki as well as all of the levels of Reiki Dimensional Consciousness Training, combining both with Shamanic Journeys.
Currently, I offer my Reiki courses both in-person and online, including The Reiki Master Practitioner Training Program and The Reiki Master Teacher Program. I also offer Healing Touch certification courses and The Reiki School of Energy Healing endorses the Healing Touch Program®. I am available and happy to travel with all of my courses.
